Narcoterrorism Is Proving More Deadly Than Guns In J&K
Narcoterrorism is proving more deadly than guns in Jammu and Kashmir: International Day Against Drug Abuse 2021.
Narcoterrorism is proving to be more lethal than terrorism dying in Jammu and Kashmir.
With the strict vigil of the Indian Army and security forces on the border, Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI has understood that sending terrorists across the border is no longer easy.
This is the reason why ISI has started a conspiracy to promote drug smuggling instead of infiltrating terrorists for the last few years.
Pakistan is also smuggling narcotics across the border through drones. Pakistan is engaged in ruining the local youth with drugs in Jammu and Kashmir.
At the same time, a conspiracy is being hatched to revive the terrorism which is dying with the money raised from it.
Terrorist incidents have come down in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. Cross-border infiltration has also come down after the re-agreement of the ceasefire
Dilbag Singh, Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir also believes that Pakistan is resorting to narco-terrorism to revive terrorism by providing financial help to the remaining terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
Drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir:
According to a survey conducted two years ago by the Union Ministry of Social and Justice, the consumption of drugs in Jammu and Kashmir is 0.80 percent more than the national average.
The consumption of intoxicants in the whole country is about 0.70 percent and in Jammu and Kashmir 1.50 percent. The biggest reason for this is the border of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan.
The geographical situation in Jammu and Kashmir is such that consignments of drugs are being smuggled here through rivers and canals.
Most of the cross-border drug smuggling takes place from the Uri sector, Kupwara, Poonch, and Rajouri districts of the Jammu division in North Kashmir.
For the past few years, Pakistan is also sending narcotics to Jammu and Kashmir through drones.
Drugs reaching interior areas by trucks: Drugs coming from across the border, with the help of smugglers, reach the interior areas of Jammu and Kashmir by filling them in trucks laden with apples and other salmon.
Due to the lack of scanners on the nose, it is very difficult to catch it. Despite this, every effort is made that there is no smuggling.
In this regard, Intelligence Officer of Narcotic Control Bureau, Satish Kumar said that even if scanners are installed, it is difficult to catch the drugs kept hidden at the bottom of the boxes of apples, etc.
Pakistan’s conspiracy has failed many times:
In September last year, 58 kg heroin packets were recovered from a barbed wire near Budwar post of Arnia sub-sector on the international border in Jammu.
These heroin packets were filled between plastic pipes and sent the consignment to Indian territory.
In April this year, 10 kg heroin was recovered twice in a span of a month in Tangdar in North Kashmir, 5.5 kg heroin besides arms and ammunition was recovered in Baramulla on 19 June.
On Friday, June 25, a consignment of heroin has also been caught in the Kupwara district of North Kashmir.
Two days before this, the BSF killed the intruder and seized 18 packets of heroin tied to his body at Bharti forward post Pansar in Hiranagar of the Jammu division.
Anti Narcotic Task Force is working:
Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau Rajesh Kumar said that the Anti Narcotic Task Force of the State Government is working in collaboration with other agencies for the eradication of Narcoterrorism.
While political expert Prof. Hari Om says that narcoterrorism is more deadly than terrorism. Surveillance is needed to prevent the use of enemy drones.
