Newly Elected MLAs took oath in Puducherry Legislative Assembly: Puducherry. Chief Minister Rangasamy was sworn in as MLA.
He was administered the oath of office by the caretaker Speaker Lakshminarayanan. He was followed by other members who became MLAs.
In Puducherry, Lakshmi Narayanan, the caretaker Speaker, was sworn in by the Deputy Governor of Tamil Nadu.
After that oath taking ceremony for the newly elected MLAs started, It took place in the Speaker’s room in the Assembly.

Subsequently the MLAs came to the Speaker’s Chamber separately and were sworn in as MLAs. NR Congress, BJP, DMK, Independent MLAs took office.
Only their families were allowed to attend when the MLAs took office. Along with the elected MLAs, 3 nominated MLAs appointed by the Central Government also took office.
Outsiders were not allowed inside the assembly premises as the MLAs were taking office. It is noteworthy that security arrangements were strengthened at the inauguration ceremony to prevent the spread of corona.

However it was decided to implement the curfew for a week and then extend it depending on the situation.
Currently the vulnerabilities are slightly reduced after the full curfew. However, the decision will be announced in consultation with all the experts.
