NIA Arrested Two ISIS Suspects From Tamil Nadu And Karnataka
NIA arrested two ISIS suspects from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The National Investigation Agency-NIA has arrested two people from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in connection with recruitment in the terrorist organization Islamic State.
Ahmad Abdul Kadir, a resident of Ramanathapuram (Tamil Nadu), and Irfan Nasir of Bengaluru were arrested on Wednesday. Both of these names came up during the investigation of the case related to the Islamic State.
According to NIA sources, Qadir is a business analyst in a bank in Chennai and does the business of Irfan Rice.
Bengaluru-ISIS module
The NIA had registered a case in this case on September 19 and named it the Bengaluru-ISIS module. The agency has said that they have arrested both of them for having links with IS.
Both of these used to encourage the Muslim youth of Bengaluru to join the Islamic State. Also, both of them used to collect funds to send such youth to Syria.
The name came during the investigation of a case in March 2020
The agency claims that both of them came to light in March 2020 during a case investigation. Actually then Kashmir resident Hina Bashir Baig and her husband Jahanzaib Sami were arrested from Jamia Nagar in Delhi.
Both of them were arrested by the Delhi Police with ties to the Islamic State. Later, the NIA took both of them in its custody.
The agency has raided both houses and claimed that suspicious items have been recovered. Both the accused were produced before the special court of NIA and the agency has been given ten-day custody.
Jammu and Kashmir: Suspected Spy, taking photos in front of important places, and sending it to Pakistan was caught by security forces.
Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested Kuljit Kumar, accused of spying for Pakistan from Samba district. According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, knowing Kuljeet used to take photographs at important places in Samba and send him to Pakistan.
Kuljeet has been doing this work for the last 2 years. Initial investigation has revealed that Kuljeet was allegedly given money from Pakistan for this.
Jammu and Kashmir police have also seized 4 mobile phones from Kuljeet, arrested on charges of espionage. A photo of many important places of Jammu and Kashmir has been found inside these phones.
Kuljeet has shared these photos on Pakistan’s number. The police have also recovered several SIMs from the accused. Samba police have taken the accused on remand by presenting them in the court.
