NIA Raid On Seven Bases In Terrorist Alliance Case
NIA raid on seven bases in a terrorist alliance case, the investigation was done from Srinagar to Uri: Kashmir. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started clamping down on elements involved in the case related to the nexus between Hizbul terrorist Naveed and suspended police DSP Devendra Singh.
The NIA raid on seven locations from Srinagar to Loniyar, Baniyar, Uri along the LoC in North Kashmir. Those whose hideouts were allegedly found include a woman BJP leader, a former jailed BJP leader, a Hurriyat Conference leader, and an inspector of the electricity department.
However, no one has been arrested during these raids, but the NIA team has captured some pen drives, mobile phones, SIM cards, laptops, and many papers. At seven in the morning, NIA squads started raids with the Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF. An NIA team searched the house of Azad Ahmad Pir, a relative of Maldalura Shopian, resident of Sarpanch Tariq Mir.
Azad Ahmad Pir’s house is in Dardikot village adjacent to LoC in the Uri sector. The NIA also searched the house of Tariq Mir’s wife Shireen Bibi in Chinad, Baramulla. Tariq Mir was arrested by the NIA team on 30 April this year on the basis of interrogation of Hizbul commander Naveed Mushtaq and suspended DSP Devendra Singh.
Tariq Mir was involved in drug and arms smuggling. He has contested from Vachi Assembly constituency in 2014 on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket. NIA officials also raid the house of female BJP leader Halima Begum at Boniyar in the Uri sector. The NIA has also searched the government residential house allotted to Halima Begum at Baramulla district headquarters.
In Kansipore, Baramulla, the NIA also inspected the house of Inspector Shaheen Lone of the Electricity Department and the house of his father-in-law Ghulam Rasool Waja in Palhalan Pattan. Ghulam Rasool Vaja is also a retired government employee.
Ghulam Rasool Waja has two sons, Farooq Ahmed and Mushtaq Ahmed Waja. Farooq Ahmed is working in the Health Department. Mushtaq Ahmad Waja had gone to Ghulam Kashmir to become a terrorist only in 1993. After this, he has been carrying out terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir through his contact sources.
NIA officials also raided the house of Tafjul Parimu son Abdul Rashid in SA Colony, Naugam, on the outskirts of Srinagar. His father Abdul Rashid told the NIA that Tafazul no longer lives with him. He has lived in the Pirbag area for the past few years. After this, the NIA team searched his house in Pirbag.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur, when asked in the context of NIA’s search of Halima Begum’s house, said that it was true that she was associated with the BJP, but she was not given any significant responsibility in the organization.
The Tariq Mir whom we dropped out of the organization about three years ago has a family relationship with her and perhaps that is why she will be involved somewhere in this matter.
This was the case: Hizbul commander Naveed Mushtaq and his accomplice Rafi Ahmed Rather, overground worker Irfan Shafi Mir along with DSP Devendra Singh of Jammu and Kashmir Police were arrested by the police on 11 January 2020 near Qazigund on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
DSP Devendra Singh, arrested with terrorists, has been suspended by the police administration. He was then trying to get the terrorists safely to Jammu. The NIA filed a charge sheet in the case in the court about three months ago. The investigation is going on in the same case.
The NIA on Tuesday searched the houses of four people, including a Hurriyat leader in North Kashmir, in the case of Terror funding and drug trade. Two of these people are already in jail. The concerned officials said that the NIA has found some important clues in the case registered about four years ago for misuse of cross LoC trade for terrorist activities in Kashmir.
Moving on these clues, the NIA searched Baramulla and Sapor. He told that in the morning NIA first searched the house of Pir Arshad Iqbal alias Ashu in Khwaja Bagh (Baramulla). Pir Arshad is currently lodged in a case related to drug trafficking in Kathua jail.
Apart from this, the police also searched the houses and business establishments of Tariq Ahmed Sheikh of Tauheedganj, Baramulla, M / s Sheikh Brothers, and M / s Hamid Brothers. Tariq Ahmed Sheikh is currently lodged in Baramulla Jail on charges of narcotics business.
In Khwaja Bagh itself, the NIA searched the house of Hurriyat Conference leader Basheer Ahmad Sophie and the house and shop of Abdul Hameed Lone, a cross LoC trader in Wagub Sopore.
