NIA’s Major Blow to Pro-Khalistan Terrorism: The NIA has arrested Baljit Singh, a close associate of pro-Khalistan terrorist Arshdeep Singh, at Delhi Airport. Known for supporting the Khalistan Terrorist Force (KTF), Singh’s apprehension marks a critical step in India’s fight against terrorism, exposing links to extortion, terror funding, and weapon smuggling.
NIA’s other attack on terrorism, the main associate of pro-Khalistan terrorists arrested from Delhi airport. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested a close associate of pro-Khalistan terrorist Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dalla from Delhi airport. According to an official statement, Baljit Singh alias Baljit Maur of Bathinda, Punjab was arrested by the investigating agency on his arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport from the United Arab Emirates.
These things came to the fore in the NIA investigation
The NIA investigation revealed that Baljit Maur was involved in providing logistical support to India-based associates of Arsh Dalla of the banned organization Khalistan Terrorist Force (KTF), identifying extortion, recruiting new cadres, and terror funding.
NIA’s Major Blow to Pro-Khalistan Terrorism: A non-bailable warrant was issued against him in June 2024
The statement said that Maur was wanted in several other cases along with being wanted in a case related to the terrorist activities of KTF. A non-bailable warrant was issued against him in June 2024, while a Look Out Circular (LoC) was issued in February this year.
The NIA statement said Maur’s arrest is a significant development in India’s fight against terrorism. The investigating agency said he was identified as the key conspirator in the KTF conspiracy to spread terror in Punjab in a suo motu case registered by the NIA on February 13.
According to the NIA’s case, the KTF terrorists were engaged in raising terror funds through extortion activities, targeted killings, and smuggling of arms and ammunition into India.
On Thursday, while hearing a petition related to deepfakes, the Delhi High Court made an important remark that the problem of deepfakes is constantly increasing. However, a bench of Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said that this technology cannot be banned as we need AI.
The court also said that we have to eliminate the negativity associated with it and use the positive part. Therefore, the court asked the central government how this process could be separated. Apart from this, what steps are you taking to overcome this problem?
