Pampore Encounter: A militant has been killed in an encounter since the evening of Thursday at Meej Pampore in South Kashmir. At present, the operation is on to kill his other partner.

While 20-year-old Abid Mir son Abdul Hameed Mir, who was injured in the encounter this morning as resident Meej, succumbed during treatment at the hospital without suffering injuries.
The encounter began last Thursday when security forces carried out a search operation in Meej village near Pampore.
A special police team of the police, along with the Army’s 50-RR and CRPF personnel, had conducted a campaign to catch the terrorists hiding in Meez.
When the soldiers tried to enter the village around six o’clock last Thursday, the terrorists got a clue of it. At the same time, while trying to escape from his hideout, he opened fire on the soldiers.
The soldiers saved themselves from this firing, but two civilians standing in the street were injured.
The injured have been identified as Abid Nabi and Kifayat Ahmed, both of whom were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital by security forces.
One of the two civilians injured, identified as 20-year-old Abid Mir’s son Abdul Hameed Mir, resident Meej, succumbed to the hospital treatment while not suffering injuries.
Jawan took restraint in view of the safety of the common people and the terrorists escaped from there taking advantage of it. The jawans immediately followed the terrorists, encircling the whole area.
At some distance, they surrounded the terrorists in a house. Jawanane took many of the civilians trapped there to safe places, giving the terrorists a chance to surrender.
Arrangement of lights was also made to prevent the terrorists from escaping from the darkness. There was intermittent firing from both sides throughout the night.
Today, in the wee hours of Friday, a terrorist was killed in the encounter. While the campaign is on to kill other terrorists. Security forces have blocked all routes for the terrorists to flee.
According to local sources, there are reports of two to three terrorists trapped in the siege. Among them, a terrorist has been formed a few days ago.
At the same time, one of the two civilians injured in the encounter died while undergoing treatment in the hospital without suffering any injuries.
