President Ram Nath Kovind laid a wreath at the Dagger War Memorial in Baramulla, Jammu, and Kashmir to pay tribute to all the soldiers who laid down their lives in defense of the country.
Earlier, on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, CDS General Bipin Rawat, LG Ladakh RK Mathur, and Ladakh MP Jamyang Namgyal paid floral tributes at Kargil War Memorial in Drass today.
The CDS also installed a Vijay Jyoti at the memorial. President Kovind had a program to pay tribute to the martyrs by visiting Dras in Kargil today, but now it has been changed due to bad weather.

On Sunday, a day before Kargil Vijay Diwas, Chief of Defense Staff Bipin Rawat visited areas along the Line of Control in the Drass sector of Kargil district.

He paid tribute to the brave martyrs by laying a wreath at the war memorial at the headquarters of the Army’s 15th Corps in Badamibagh, Srinagar.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is organized every year on 26th July. This is the same day when the Indian Army got back all its posts in Kargil, which were captured by the Pakistan Army.
