Railways successfully test the speed of Vista tourist coaches, PM said- these trains will make the journey memorable.
Further strengthening the self-reliant India campaign, the Indian Railways on Wednesday successfully conducted a speed test of the newly designed VistaDome tourist coaches.
The coach has successfully completed the 180 kmph oscillation test.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while appreciating the new Vistaadom coaches built by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), said that the comfortable arrangements made by them would make people’s journeys memorable.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted informing the country about these new coaches and in response to this, Prime Minister Modi wrote, ‘Comfortable and modern technology will make rail journeys very memorable’.
In December itself, the pressure test of the coaches was completed at the ICF.
The ministry said that its objective is to make the journey of people comfortable and convenient. Vistadome tourist coaches have large and tall glass windows and also have an electronically controlled glass roof.
Tourism will be able to enjoy the views in every way. Each coach has a seating capacity of 44 tourists and these chairs can rotate up to 180 degrees.
These coaches will have Wi-Fi based information for passengers. The places for which these coaches are scheduled to include Dadar and Madgaon, Kalka, Shimla, Kangra Valley, Darjeeling, Kashmir Valley, etc.
Jammu Kashmir: Udhampur-Baramulla Rail Link Project to be completed by 15 August 2022 by PM Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Udhampur-Baramulla rail link project should be completed by 15 August 2022.
The Prime Minister reviewed important projects in the 34th Progress Meeting through video conferencing.
The Prime Minister reviewed 11 important projects related to the seven ministries. It also reviewed the important railway link project Udhampur-Baramula being built in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary BVR Subramaniam, Administrative Secretary of Health and Medical Education, and Water Power Department were also involved through video conferencing.
Regarding the project connecting Kashmir to the railways, the Chief Secretary told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that all the issues related to the project have been resolved. The work is progressing smoothly.
Referring to the benefits of tourism and the economy in Kashmir after the completion of the project, Prime Minister Modi said that the target of completing this important project has been set for 15 August 2022.
