Solicitor General Tushar Mehta –

Custody is needed for interrogation of allegations of disproportionate assets and mobilization of money through hawala by CBI and IT between 2015 and 2017 to the tune of Rs 4.81 crore.

In the registry, the money was told to be given by check. But the payment was made in cash. Jain was arrested under section 19. Jain hasn’t answered any questions.

We need 14 days’ custody because we have to check whether the money coming through Hawala belonged to Satyendra Jain or someone else.

Jain has not given any satisfactory answer on the existing evidence. Minister Satyendar Jain in Delhi government was produced shortly before the MP MLA Court at Rouse Avenue.

He was produced in the court of Special Judge Geetanjali Goel.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on Monday.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested him in a case of hawala transactions involving a Kolkata-based company.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Monday took Jain into custody under criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after a few hours of questioning.

The arrest of Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has given the BJP and Congress an opportunity to corner the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Both the parties have demanded Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal remove Jain from the cabinet.

At the same time, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has hit back at the BJP, saying that for the last eight years, a fake case is being run against Jain.

Manoj Tiwari targeted Kejriwal.

Former BJP state president and MP Manoj Tiwari said that Kejriwal has gone on to teach honesty to the world and his ministry has become a hawala trader.

He has been arrested with full evidence. Chief Minister and Jain should resign on moral grounds.

It is to be known that earlier in the month of January, there was talk of arresting Satyendra Jain. Then he took a dig at the BJP. Upon his arrest, he launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He had said that if BJP thinks that we too will be scared like Punjab Chief Minister Channi Ji, then they are wrong.

I challenge BJP to send ED as well as CBI, and Income Tax to everyone, we are not afraid of anyone.

Earlier, CM Arvind Kejriwal had also made a scathing attack on the central government in this matter.

Taking a jibe at the central government he said that we have come to know from the sources that the BJP government can get our health minister arrested.

The CM said in his digital press conference that this arrest could happen in view of elections in five states.

However, Satyendar Jain also attacked the central government over his arrest. Now after the passage of three months, it has come to the fore again that Satyendra Jain has been arrested by the ED.

The leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party had also said during the assembly elections that the Center can arrest their leaders for influencing the elections.
