Terrorists have once again attempted to target the security forces in the Kashmir Valley. This time the attack was done in Sopore.
The terrorists fired a grenade targeting the CRPF jawans standing outside the SBI Bank branch located in Sopore Bazar, but the grenade did not hit the target and exploded on the other side.
There is no information about any casualties in this attack. However, one CRPF jawan and one civilian have been reported injured. However, it has not been confirmed yet.
After the grenade explosion, the terrorists fled from the spot amidst the chaos in the area. However, the security forces have started a search operation in the area in search of the attackers.
The surrounding area is also being cordoned off. According to the information received from the police, this attack took place this afternoon.
The grenade was fired at the camp of BSF 179 battalion personnel deployed in security outside SBI Bank in the Sopore main market.
Fortunately, this grenade did not hit the target but fell on the other side and exploded.
Not many came directly in the grip of the grenade, but two people including a CRPF jawan were injured. However, on hearing the sound of the explosion, an atmosphere of panic prevailed in the market.
People started running here and there to save their lives. In this stampede, the attackers managed to escape from there.
As soon as the information about the attack was received, the team of SOG, Army, and CRPF reached the spot.
From the side where the terrorists attacked, the soldiers started the search operation on the same side. At present, the search for terrorists is going on.
