India’s star tennis player Sumit Nagal has been given a wild card entry for the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, starting on February 8.
Although the Australian Open organizers are yet to release the names of some of the players who got entry to the wild card in singles.
Australian media say that Nagal has been given a place in the tournament through a wild card.
Sumit Nagal tweeted about this, “I want to thank all those who helped me in getting me a wild card at the Australian Open.
Thank you to Tennis Australia who is organizing this tournament in the event of a coronavirus epidemic.” At the same time, Andy Murray will also play at the Australian Open via the wild card.

Murray had played only seven official matches this year due to injury, but he made a comeback after Coronavirus.
Murray won his first win in two months by defeating Dan Evans in straight sets in the Brits Premier League tennis tournament.
Murray withdrew from the tournament held in Cologne, Germany in October this year. Murray had not landed on the court since then.
Playing his first match in this tournament, the former world number-1 player showed great form and beat Evans 7-6, 6-4.
