The Chief Minister raised his voice in the Kerala Assembly, the demand for the intervention of the Center on the disputed issue of Lakshadweep has been approved.
The Kerala Legislative Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a resolution to recall the Lakshadweep Administrator and demand the intervention of the Center in the Lakshadweep issue.
In the Kerala Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today expressed solidarity with the people of Lakshadweep. He said, ‘The Center should intervene in the Lakshadweep case.
It is the responsibility of the Center to ensure the safety of the interests of the people.
The Chief Minister further said, ‘The Administrator challenging the interests of the people should be removed and the Center should take immediate action to protect the lives and livelihoods of the people of Lakshadweep’.
The Chief Minister introduced the resolution in the Legislative Assembly under Rule 118. The opposition also expressed support for this.
Under this, there has been a demand for the people of Lakshadweep to interfere with the Center. There is also a demand for the withdrawal of the Lakshadweep administration and the disputed reform.
On Friday, the Kerala High Court sought a response from the Central Government on a petition filed against the Lakshadweep Administrator’s move to introduce the Lakshadweep Development Authority Regulation, 2021 (LDA) and the Prevention of Social Activity (PASA) Act in the Union Territory.
In December last year, Lakshadweep’s command was given to Praful Khoda Patel.
He then brought the draft amendments to the Lakshadweep Animal Protection Regulation, the Lakshadweep Prevention of Antisocial Activities Regulation.
The Lakshadweep Development Authority Regulation, and the Lakshadweep Panchayat Employee Rules. It also has the Anti-Gunda Act and a provision to prevent more than two children from contesting panchayat elections.
Explain that the administrator of Lakshadweep is accused of wrongly interfering with social, political, and cultural realities.
For this, petition was filed on behalf of the Congress in the Kerala High Court, which states that the people of the island have also opposed the Lakshadweep Development Authority Regulation 2021 brought by the administration and the creation of the Lakshadweep Development Authority.
These laws give the administration the right to acquire the small property of the scheduled tribe people of the island.
Under PASA, the administration gets the right to imprison any person for about a year without giving any public information.
Praful Khoda Patel, the administrator of Lakshadweep with a Muslim majority population, is being demanded to be removed due to the enforcement of these controversial laws
