The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a red alert amid heavy rains in the Udupi district. At the same time, the incident of landslides has also come to the fore.

One more person died today in a landslide at Panjikal village of Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada district.

According to Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Hrishikesh Sonawane, the death toll has risen to three, and one is undergoing treatment.

He said three people have been rescued, one of whom is in critical condition and has been admitted to the hospital.

Holiday in Anganwadi Schools and Colleges.

Udupi District Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao M has declared a holiday for Anganwadi schools and colleges on Thursday due to heavy rains.

At the same time, the IMD has advised tourists and fishermen not to go to the beaches and sea areas.

Holiday has also been declared for Anganwadi schools and colleges in Kodagu, Uttara Kannada, Alur, Arkalgud, and Sakleshpura districts of Karnataka.

Chief Minister gave instructions to evacuate people from low-lying areas.

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai said that IMD has predicted heavy rains in Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada.

The CM said that after talking to the Deputy Commissioners, all necessary precautions have been taken. NDRF and SDRF have been deployed in Kodagu, Karwar, and Udupi.

At the same time, the CM has given instructions to prevent erosion of the sea, evacuate people living in low-lying areas with common landslide incidents, and keep the roads clean.
