He said that a budding wrestler should get two kilos of milk, 250 grams of almonds, 250 raisins, half a dozen bananas, seasonal fruits, bread-vegetables, rice, salads, yogurt daily. This diet costs around Rs 500 a day, but not doing so is affecting performance.
Wrestling since the age of eight
Monu had chosen wrestling as a career at the age of eight. He learned wrestling tricks from Coach Shamsher in Balraj’s arena in the village. Tiger’s father Ranbir Singh is a daily wage laborer, but he worked hard day and night to pay for his son’s education and wrestling. Tiger is living in a dilapidated house with his mother and father.
Tiger first plays freestyle wrestling at 42 kg and later at 57 kg. Raj Singh Singh Chikkara, coach of Subhash Stadium in Sonepat, said that Tiger won medals in all the national and international level sub-junior competitions in the year 2015-16, but now not getting enough food is affecting his performance.
