Two LeT Terrorists Were Killed In The Srinagar Encounter
Two LeT terrorists were killed in the Srinagar encounter, 2 CRPF personnel were injured, 24 terrorists were killed in 16 encounters in 9 days: Srinagar encounter.
Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists have been killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Srinagar’s Alamdar area that began early on Friday.
However, two CRPF personnel were also injured during the encounter. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Security forces have taken the bodies of the slain terrorists. Weapons have also been recovered from the encounter site.
The security forces had also given them a chance to surrender before they started firing on the terrorists but they refused to lay down their arms.
Giving information about the end of the operation after the killing of two terrorists in the Srinagar encounter.
IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that with today’s action, the police along with the security forces have killed 78 terrorists in the valley so far this year.
Most of the terrorists killed in these encounters were related to Lashkar-e-Taiba.
That is, about 39 out of 78 terrorists were from Lashkar while others were from Hizbul Mujahideen, Albader, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and AUGH.
He also congratulated the police and security forces personnel for the successful operation.
According to information received from police sources, the army had received information about the hiding of some terrorists in the Alamdar Colony located in the Danmar area of Srinagar.
On the basis of the information, SOG, Army, and CRPF personnel reached Alamdar Colony and started operations to nab the terrorists.
Seeing the security forces approaching them, the terrorists started firing on them.
Two CRPF personnel were injured in this firing. The injured have been identified as SI Bhupendra Sharma (25) of 21 battalions and Unish Ahmed Dar (35) of 73 battalions.
Both have been admitted to 92 Base Hospital for treatment. The condition of both is said to be stable.
The security forces asked the terrorists to surrender several times during the encounter, but when they did not agree, they also started responding with bullets.
In this encounter that lasted for about four to five hours, the security forces killed both the terrorists.
However, due to the apprehension of the presence of more terrorists in the area, the security forces have started a search operation in the Alamdar locality.
There is no information about the presence of any other terrorists so far.
On the other hand, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, while confirming that the terrorists killed in the encounter were local, said that both of them were related to Lashkar-e-Taiba.
At present, his identity has not been disclosed. The administration has suspended internet service in the area till the completion of the operation as a precautionary measure.
You may be aware that the security forces have intensified their operations against terrorists in the Kashmir Valley.
This was the 16th encounter in the Valley within the last nine days. In these encounters, the security personnel has killed 24 terrorists so far.
