Two terrorists including a top commander of LeT Ishfaq killed in a Shopian encounter, IGP congratulates Police Force: Shopian Encounter.

On the one hand, the security forces have achieved great success against the terrorists in Kashmir.

Two terrorists, including top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram, were killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Shopian’s Sadiq Khan area on Sunday night.

Describing it as a big success for the security forces fighting the war against terrorism, the IGP congratulated it.

According to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar, Lashkar commander Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram was active in the Valley since 2017, he was earlier in JKP.

Other materials including arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the encounter site.

After conducting the search operation, the security forces captured the bodies of both the terrorists and announced the end of the operation.

Police said that the encounter started late on Sunday night in the Sadiq Khan area of ​​Shopian.

On the basis of the information, SOG, Army 34RR, and CRPF personnel reached the area and started a search operation to find the terrorists.

As the security personnel approached the terrorist hideout, they started firing. The security forces also asked the terrorists to surrender but they continued firing.

The firing continued intermittently till early morning. When the terrorists did not surrender despite repeated requests, the security forces killed both the terrorists.

When they were identified after taking the bodies in the encounter, one of the slain terrorists turned out to be Lashkar-e-Taiba’s top commander Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram.

IGP Vijay Kumar also confirmed this and said that we had started the search for these terrorists only after the three terrorist attacks in June.

We had come to know that both of them were involved in these attacks. During the same operation, two local terrorists were killed by security forces in Srinagar on Friday.

He was also related to Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The IGP said that the same Lashkar terrorists were also involved in the murder of the police inspector, the murder of the owner of the mobile shop, and the death of three people in the grenade attack.

We were tracking them. When this news was confirmed yesterday on Sunday, the CRPF started the siege.

We appealed to them to surrender but they refused following which an encounter broke out and both were killed.

Kumar had also said that a total of 80 terrorists have been killed in the Valley so far this year.
