United Nations Concerned Over Madrassas Of PAK-AFG
United Nations concerned over madrassas of Pakistan-Afghanistan, said – breeding places for terrorists.
Concerns have been raised in the United Nations about madrassas in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
A research analyst at the European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS) has expressed concern over the ongoing religious schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan, saying they are becoming breeding grounds for terrorists.
“It is well known that the threat of terrorism in South Asia is largely coming out of religious schools and so-called madrassas,” Anne Heckendorff said at the 48th session of the United Nations Human Rights Session.
These schools often promote a distorted and orthodox interpretation of Islam and are still growing wildly in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
United Nations concerned over madrassas: the threat of terrorism in South Asia.
Heckendorf told the UNHRC that the international community should not rejoice over the Taliban’s false promises of education.
He said that the Taliban and the Haqqani network were born from such madrassas in Pakistan.
Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and other terrorist organizations are operating such terrorist factories in Pakistan under the protection of the country’s powerful intelligence agency.
There are many illegal madrassas or religious schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan which force the youth towards jihad or war. They turn them against other religions and drive them towards gun culture.
