UP government serious about the security of Ayodhya, STF unit will soon be formed in Ramnagari.
After the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Special Task Force (STF) is also preparing to expand in view of the challenges of security arrangements in the coming days.
There is a churning going on in the Uttar Pradesh government on the proposal to set up a unit of STF in Ayodhya.
A decision on this is expected to be taken. Along with this, a proposal to increase the resources of STF has also been sent to the government.
The scope of work of the STF constituted to crackdown on organized crime has also increased continuously.
The responsibility of cracking down on cheating in examinations also remains with the ATF.
Ayodhya has been a target of terrorist organizations for a long time. This is the reason why the challenge of security there has always been a big one.
Now the government is constantly making efforts to strengthen it. The work of expansion of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Ayodhya is also going on. STF currently has nine units.
Of these, there is one unit each in all the eight zonal headquarters including Lucknow headquarters and one unit is established in Noida. The 10th unit of STF will be formed in Ayodhya.
Along with this, Agra, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, and Prayagraj units of STF will soon have their own office buildings.
It was told that the land has been earmarked for them and a proposal for building construction has been sent.
Along with this, a proposal is also included for the purchase of state-of-the-art weapons in place of AK-47 and MP-5 rifles to combat the miscreants and to set up a cyber lab in the STF headquarters.
UP government serious about the security: There is also a plan to build a transit hostel in Noida for STF officers and personnel.
It is noteworthy that in the past, DGP Mukul Goyal had inspected the STF headquarters. Then ADG STF Amitabh Yash also gave a presentation about new challenges and resources.
Alert issued in UP regarding Independence Day, Section-144 in Lucknow now till September 7
Intelligence agencies have issued an alert regarding Independence Day, after which instructions have been given to take full vigilance at every level in the state.
ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar have asked all SSPs and SPs to conduct intensive checking at markets and other prominent places as well as keep a close watch on suspects and people coming from outside.
Apart from checking in hotels, Dharamshala and Laj, the police have been instructed to take full precaution at every level regarding the security arrangements for Muharram.
The ADG has also been directed to deploy additional police forces at all sensitive places.
At the same time, Section-144, applicable in the capital, has been extended till September 7 on account of Independence Day, Muharram, and Rakshabandhan in the capital Lucknow.
JCP Law and Order Piyush Mordia issued this order on Thursday. He said that processions etc. will be banned during this period due to Covid-19 security.
