Vaishno Devi Yatra Started Again After Temporary Stop Due To Rain

Vaishno Devi Yatra started again, there was a temporary stop due to sudden floods due to heavy rains.

Vaishno Devi Yatra, which was stopped due to flash floods after heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir, has been resumed. The movement of pilgrims to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine resumed on Saturday.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board CEO Anshul Garg said that there was no report of any casualty or damage to property and the situation was under control.

According to the news of news agency, the shrine board said that in view of the heavy rains, the movement of pilgrims going from Katra to Vaishno Devi was stopped.

While priority was being given to the pilgrims coming downstairs.

In the Bhawan area, priority was given to the pilgrims coming towards Sanjichhat and then Katra.

This was done under the supervision of Shrine Board employees, Police and CRPF officers, and Additional Chief Executive Officer Navneet posted in the building.

Vaishno Devi Yatra started again after a temporary stop due to rains: In many videos shared on social media, flood-like conditions were visible on the Vaishno Devi track.

According to an official, Katra, the base camp of pilgrims visiting the Vaishno Devi temple, was hit by torrential rains for several hours in the evening.

Due to this, the authorities had to stop the journey till 5 am on Saturday morning as a precaution.

When the heavy rain started and continued till midnight, thousands of pilgrims were present at the temple. Officials said that due to this the Himkoti (battery vehicle) track was stopped.

Regular announcements were made through the public address system to avoid panic. Officials also said that emergency response teams, CRPF, and medical units were put on high alert.
