After Malda, Murshidabad, now the fire of violence has spread in Siliguri. Why did the two groups come face to face? After Malda and Murshidabad in Bengal, now violence has erupted in Siliguri city of Darjeeling district. After the incident of attack on people doing Charak Puja, there was a clash between two parties in Jyoti Nagar area of ward number 4 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation, due to which the atmosphere of the whole area has become heated.
On getting information about the incident, the Police Commissioner of Siliguri reached with a large number of police force and controlled the situation. A large number of police forces have been deployed in the area along with two companies of the RAF to maintain peace. The situation in the whole area is tense but under control.
According to the information received from the local people, there was heavy stone pelting between the two sides. This has also resulted in some injuries. Glass windows have been broken in many houses.

Seeing the seriousness of the situation, Siliguri Police DCP (West) BC Thakur, DCP (Headquarters) Tanmay Sarkar, along with Police Commissioner C Sudhakar, reached the area. Here, people of both sides were face to face with sticks. Police used mild force and dispersed both sides. After this, the police force was deployed along with two companies of the RAF.

All security arrangements have been made in the area regarding Charak Puja. People have been advised not to pay attention to rumours. It is worth mentioning that before this, incidents of violence took place in Mothabadi of Malda and Murshidabad city in Bengal. The situation in Murshidabad remains tense.
