On Friday evening, militants shot dead and wounded a soldier of the Territorial Army in South Kashmir’s Gaurivan Bijbehada. The injured jawan was admitted to Anantnag GMC in critical condition.

But he succumbed shortly after treatment. The deceased soldier Mohammad Salim Akhoon was a resident of Gaurivan. After the attack, a joint search operation has been started to surround the area.

The militants in the valley are awed by the increasing pressure from the security forces.

They are now adopting the strategy of attacking and attacking the jawans. On Thursday, terrorists escaped by attacking a patrolling block in Shopian. However, incidentally, no jawan was harmed at that time.

But the very next day, the first three terrorists were killed in an intensive joint search operation in Shopian. This operation continued till Friday morning. Eventually, two more terrorists hiding in the mosque were killed.

On the other hand, in the Naubug area of ​​Avantipora Tral around 7.40 am, two militants were also killed by security forces. Security forces were also conducting search operations here.

Just then, the hidden two terrorists started firing on the jawans. But both were killed shortly after.

In the same vengeance, the terrorists attacked Mohammad Salim Aakhun, a 35-year-old soldier of the Territorial Army, at about five o’clock in the evening. Here also security forces have surrounded the area and started searching.

The ongoing encounter in Shopian has been going on continuously for the last 16 hours since Thursday.

The security forces have postponed the operation till the terrorists come out so that the mosque is not harmed.

Although the security forces had sent the Imam of the mosque and the brothers of the militant for talks in the early hours of Friday, both of them refused to accept the proposal. Earlier, three soldiers were also injured in the encounter.
