Mercedes G 580: Design and Interior
The design of the G 580 is almost similar to the G 450d. The grille and EQ badge given in it give it a slightly different look. A lot of work has been done to keep it aerodynamic. It has another A-point of support plan and another spoiler lip before the rooftop. It has a new bonnet. A charging cable holder with a similar design can be used in place of the optional spare wheel holder on the rear boot. Additionally, its interior is essentially the same as the G-Class. It has new EV special functions except for some switchgear.
Mercedes Electric G Wagon: Mercedes G 580: Powertrain and Battery Pack
Each wheel of the vehicle will be powered by one of its four electric motors. Each motor will generate 147 hp of power and all the motors will generate 587 hp of power and 1,165Nm of torque. It will also get a 2-speed gearbox. Mercedes claims that the G 580 accelerates from 0-100 kph in less than 5 seconds. Its top speed is 180kph. The battery pack installed in it gives a claimed range of 470 km after charging.
Its front suspension has been given much better. At the rear, it has a new rigid axle, which has an electric drive unit and a virtual instead of mechanical differential lock to give optimized torque vectoring. It has a shiftable low-range transmission.
The G 580 has three special functions for off-road driving, namely the G-Turn, which allows the car to rotate 720 degrees on the spot. The G 580 also has an off-road crawler function, which can run at speeds as low as 2 kph.
