Security Tightened in Jammu After Suspects Spotted Near Pakistan Border
Security Tightened in Jammu: Security forces in Jammu are on high alert after 4 suspects were spotted near the Pakistan border. Vigilance increased in crowded areas and checkpoints tightened. Security increased in Jammu city. Security forces are on alert in various border areas of Jammu and Samba districts after four suspects were seen in Dhakhar village of Khour sector, located on the international border with Pakistan. Dense fog has been prevailing in the border areas for some days. Terrorists take advantage of this and try to infiltrate. Therefore, as soon as information was received about the sighting of suspects, security was increased in various border areas. Tightening has also been done at the checkpoints on various routes connecting Jammu city to the border areas.
Security Tightened in Jamm: Vigilance increased in crowded places
Vehicles from these areas are allowed to enter the city even after checking. At the same time, instructions have also been given to the soldiers in the camps of the security forces to remain alert. Vigilance has also been increased at all sensitive and crowded places in Jammu.
Vehicles entering the city are being checked
On Saturday morning, all vehicles carrying milk, vegetables, etc. from the border areas to Jammu city were allowed to enter only after thorough checking. Police, paramilitary forces, and army personnel are also setting up checkpoints on these routes of the border areas.
Along with this, tight security arrangements have also been made at the Jammu railway station, which has suffered two terrorist attacks. To make the security of the railway station foolproof, security personnel equipped with metal detectors and sniffer dogs were seen searching trains, tracks, platforms, and passengers’ luggage.
Police officials said that apart from Jammu, security has also been increased around Udhampur and Katra railway stations. Surveillance is being done through CCTV cameras installed in Jammu railway station. Now Republic Day is also near. That is why security has also been increased.
Security Tightened in Jammu: Search operations being conducted in border areas
Even though the search operation conducted after a suspicious person was seen in Dhakkhar of Khaur has ended, it is going on in other areas. Army and police personnel were seen conducting search operations in Jogwan, some distance away from Dhakhar.
Similar search operations are being conducted in other border areas given the possibility of infiltration of terrorists from the international border. Along with this, the security forces are also appealing to the local people to inform them if they see any suspicious activity anywhere immediately.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG, Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range said that the soldiers have been instructed to be more vigilant and foil any plans of anti-national elements. Police are keeping an eye on taxis, buses, and auto stands. If any suspicious passenger is seen there, he is allowed to go only after interrogation and search. If common people see any suspicious person or object anywhere, they should immediately inform the nearest police station.
