This statement of the Army has come after the reaction of Additional Chief Granthi Giani Amarjit Singh of Sri Harimandir Sahib, in which he had said that no permission was given to the Army to install air defense guns in the complex. Chief Granthi Giani Raghbir Singh had also said that when the military operation was going on, he was on a foreign tour, but at that time, there was no discussion with him about installing air defense guns.

The Indian Army’s Lieutenant General Sumer Ivan had claimed a day earlier that air defense guns were installed in the Sri Harimandir Sahib complex with the permission of the Head Granthi. Regarding this, statements of Additional Chief Granthi Giani Amarjit Singh and Chief Granthi Giani Raghbir Singh came out on Tuesday. Amarjit Singh said that in view of the instructions of the Amritsar District Administration regarding the recent blackout in the city, the Sri Harimandir Sahib management had cooperated in every way, and the outer and upper lights of the Sri Harimandir Sahib complex were kept off for the prescribed time.

Harjinder Singh Dhami also raised questions

SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami says that the government and the district administration had contacted him to switch off the lights during the blackout. We fully cooperated, considering it an administrative responsibility. Only the outer lights were kept off in consultation with Additional Chief Granthi Giani Amarjit Singh.

He said that there was no talk with the Indian Army officials regarding the installation of air defense guns in Sri Harimandir Sahib, and no permission was given to install air defense guns.
