Conspiracy to revive terrorism in Reasi district failed
The plot to revive terrorism, which had died in Mahore in Reasi district, was foiled. The army and police arrested three underground workers, including a government teacher, in Mahore. He was in contact with Mohammad Qasim, sitting in Pakistan for the last four years. Lashkar Commander Qasim, a resident of Mahore, fled to Pakistan 18 years ago.
All three are in question. There may be some more arrests in this case as well. On August 5, SSP Rashmi Wazir in Reasi told reporters that on August 5, intelligence was received that some anti-national elements had joined Lashkar-e-Taiba to re-commit terrorism in Mahore in Reasi district. We are trying to create a framework.
A special team of police was formed and assigned the task of investigation. With the help of technology, a total of 11 people were monitored by the Intelligence Department of the National Rifle Unit deployed in Mahore. Three of these terrorist helpers came to know that they were in contact with the terrorists sitting in Pakistan.
On August 19, the three underground workers were arrested by the police and the army in a joint operation. He was identified by OGW as Ghulam Hussain resident Kalwa, Abdul Aziz resident Sildar, and Ashfaq Ahmed resident Mala Bathoi, a government middle school teacher in Mahore Kalwa. Qasim used to contact the three through WhatsApp calling and chat. It was deleted after it was negotiated in code.
According to the SSP, investigation revealed that the Benami money has also been transferred to the bank accounts of the three. He was also keeping an eye on the activities of the security forces. Three were given the responsibility: After the terrorism flourished in Kashmir in 1990, it got its roots in many districts of the Jammu division. Terrorism increased rapidly in the Reasi district after Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch. Many massacres also took place. Terrorism took place for almost a decade and a half. After this, the district became terrorism free.
SSP Wazir said that the three were given the responsibility to mislead the youth of the district and bring them on the path of terror. These people especially after contacting the family or relatives of the terrorists who were killed in the past used to lure them with money and tried to push them again on the path of terrorism. All three under-ground workers who came to the bank account would join them by giving them to such people.
Who is Qasim:
Mohammad Qasim’s name was considered big during the era of terrorism. He has been a Lashkar commander in the district. According to the SSP, he escaped from Mahore in 2002 and hid in Pakistan after saving his life from the security forces. The Lashkar commander used to trust people by offering money and various gifts. Qasim reaches those who visit his relatives in Pakistan with the passport from Mahore.
It would mislead young children in his family to get in the way of terror. Qasim was also targeted by those people in Mahore who have been away from family with terrorism or poor youth who are in need of money. The SSP said that investigations are still going on and there may be more arrests in which the role of some women is also suspected.
