Explosion in Madrasa of Peshawar, 7 killed and 70 injured; Case investigation. An explosion has been reported in Peshawar, Pakistan on Tuesday. The bombing has taken place in the Madarsa at Dir Colony, Peshawar.
According to the news published in Pakistan’s news agency Dawn, 7 people died and 70 were injured in the blast. At present, no terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to the information received, five kilograms of explosives have been used in this attack.
According to police, 40-50 children were present in the madrasa at the time of the explosion. The madrasa administration said that about 1100 children study here.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Mansoor Aman confirmed the blast and said that the reasons behind it are yet to be ascertained.
The investigation is on. Lady Reading Hospital spokesperson Mohammad Asim said 7 dead bodies were brought to the hospital and 70 injured people, including children, are being treated.
The hospital directors were present in the emergency ward to treat the injured.
Senior police officer Waqar Azim said, ‘The explosion occurred during the Quran class in the seminary. Somebody went there with a bag. Another senior police officer Mohammad Ali Gandapur confirmed the details.
He said that out of the injured there are two teachers who teach there. Meanwhile, SSP Aman informed me that an IED was used in the blast. The police have surrounded the area and are collecting evidence.
Last week, Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Ali Shahwani said that the Anti-Terrorism Authority (Nacta) had issued a security alert regarding public rallies of opposition parties in Quetta and Peshawar.
