Over five decades, the Helicopter Training School has trained 849 pilots from the Indian Navy and Coast Guard and friendly foreign countries.
Pilots are to be posted in the front line of the Navy.

The pilots will serve in a variety of front-line Navy operational units, conducting a range of tasks like anti-piracy, search and rescue, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
Officers of the BHCC who have completed the first phase of training will have to undergo the second phase of training at the Helicopter Training School.
