Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024: Tata Nexon will be the first car to come with a Turbo CNG engine, the first glimpse revealed.

Tata Nexon will be introduced with CNG powertrain today at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024.

After this, Tata Nexon will become the first SUV in the country, which will be available with all powertrain options.

How will the Nexon iCNG model be?

Ahead of its official debut, the carmaker has revealed what the Nexon iCNG model will look like as well as the twin-cylinder technology it will offer.

The Nexon CNG version to be showcased at the event will be in concept form.

However, the pictures reveal that the Nexon CNG has been updated with all the latest design changes adopted in the recent facelift.

First SUV with a turbocharged CNG powertrain.

The biggest update on the Nexon CNG is that it will become the first car in India to get a turbocharged CNG powertrain.

The automaker has stated that the 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine will power the Nexon iCNG. The engine has a maximum torque of 170 Nm and 118 horsepower.

The CNG version may have a different output; specifics are still to be disclosed. Both an automatic and manual transmission option are available for the powerplant.

Twin-cylinder technology.

The Tata Nexon CNG will also use the carmaker’s twin-cylinder technology, which was first introduced in the Altroz hatchback and later carried forward in the Punch CNG.

Instead of one large cylinder, Tata Motors developed this technology which involves two smaller cylinders of equal capacity.

This has helped Tata Motors create more luggage space at the rear. Each cylinder inside the Nexon CNG will measure 30 liters.

Design Update.

Talking about the design, the Nexon CNG also looks similar to the facelift version launched during the festive season last year.

It comes with the same front fascia, with Tata’s new signature LED DRLs and connected LED lightbar at the front, new headlight and foglamp casings as well as a new grille and bumper.

Similar connected LED taillights are also available at the rear.
