Bishop Joseph said pseudo-secularism will destroy India, after all, which community is getting its benefit.

Talking about secularism in the present Kerala society, the bishop said that today’s concern is whether we are moving towards a communally polarized Kerala by choosing the path of secularism.

He said that questions are being raised from various sections as to who is getting the real benefit of this secularism.

The bishop said that secularism is the basic nature of India but pseudo-secularism will destroy the country.

He said that our constitution is based on secularism. The religious community and the secular community should learn to live together.

The essence of Indian secularism is that all religions should be respected.

Bishop wrote that we must understand how secularism gives rise to extremism by observing the growth of conservative racist movements in the West.

If we fail to accept Indian secularism in its literal sense, India’s position will be no different.

Bishop’s Love and Narcotic Jihad remarks had created a political controversy in the state.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had said that those in responsible positions should refrain from making statements that create division in society.

The Congress had said that the bishop had crossed limits while the BJP supported him by urging the society to discuss his statement.
