Death Anniversary of Chandrasekhar Azad: The British used to eat awe, even after being martyred, many bullets were fired on Azad.

The great revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad was born on 23 July 1906 in Badarka village in the Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh. His full name was Chandrashekhar Tiwari. His childhood was spent in Madhya Pradesh.

He met Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil in 1922 and Chandrashekhar became a revolutionary.

Chandrasekhar had spread so much terror in the British rule by his revolutionary exploits that even a small group of police used to panic in raiding.

On 17 January 1931, the British announced a reward for holding them. He was martyred in an encounter in Allahabad on 27 February 1931.

Dr. Rajesh Mishra, research officer at the Allahabad Museum located in Chandrashekhar Azad Park (Alfred Park), says there are many memories associated with Azad in the city.

Apart from his statue in Azad Park, the museum has his pistol and related information.

It is said that on 27 February 1931, Azad, who was fighting alone with the English army in Allahabad, fired at himself when he had only one bullet left from his pistol to fulfill his oath.

He swore that he would not come alive to the British. He had killed more than a dozen British soldiers before committing death but had not harmed any Indian soldiers.

It is said that Chandrashekhar Azad, who stood alone in front of the British army, used to shout and tell the Indian soldiers that you do not have enmity with the people, you should go to the shore.

He also obeyed his word. The British used to shoot soldiers and officers only. He had put the British to death before killing him but had not killed a single Indian soldier.
