Delhi Capitals defeat was decided in eight balls, Bolt and Bumrah wreaked havoc: IPL 2020.
Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 57 runs in the first qualifier of IPL 2020. Mumbai has reached the final for the second time in a row.
The entire match played like the Mumbai Indians champions. First Suryakumar Yadav (51), Ishan Kishan (55 not out), and Hardik Pandya (37 not out) led Mumbai to 200 for five.
After this, Jasprit Bumrah then took Mumbai for the sixth time with four wickets, giving Mumbai the victory by champions by 57 runs.
Delhi will now have a chance to take on the winner of the eliminator in the second qualifier. Chasing a target of 201 runs, the Delhi team lost the match in the first eight balls.
Delhi’s hopes were tempered by the pair of fast bowlers Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah. The team could score only 143 runs after losing 8 wickets.
Four wickets within four overs
Within four overs, both tied the Delhi team with four wickets. In the very first over, Bolt bowled Prithvi Shaw (00) and Ajinkya Rahano (00).
In the next over, Bumrah bowled cleanly to Shikhar Dhawan (00) on a superb yorker. The Delhi team had lost three wickets and could not add a single run on the board.
Delhi had lost four wickets for 20 runs
Bumrah made Shreyas Iyer (12) run after some time. Delhi’s team had lost four wickets for 20 runs. Marcus Stoinis (65) and Akshar Patel (42) showed little struggle, but Bumrah bowled Stoinis to take the fourth wicket to his name.
Delhi will now have a chance to take on the winner of the eliminator in the second qualifier. Today the IPL 2020 eliminator will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC).
The losing team will be eliminated from the tournament. The winning team will play Delhi in qualifier two in Abu Dhabi on November 8.
