A female Naxalite was killed in an encounter on Monday in the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. It had a reward of 2 lakhs on her head.
The encounter took place near Geumalnar village under Geedam police station at 6.30 am on Monday when an anti-Naxal operation was carried out by the District Reserve Guard (DRG). This information was given by the police superintendent Abhishek Pallava.
After the encounter, the soldiers recovered the dead body of a female Naxalite. The jawans have recovered 2 weapons and other belongings at the scene.
At the same time, the search campaign has intensified in the area. The deceased Naxalite woman was identified as 24-year-old Vaiko Pekko, 400 km from Raipur.
Vaiko Peko was a member of Naxalite Platoon No. 16. A huge quantity of Naxalite material was recovered along with the body of the deceased Naxalite.
Earlier, Naxalites opened fire at the police camp in Silger village of Sukma in Chhattisgarh and tried to burn the police camp with the villagers.
Apart from this, stones were also thrown at the security forces. The firing was carried out by hidden Naxalites among the villagers, after which the security forces also fired. Three villagers lost their lives in this.
