Fugitive Tahawwur Rana Will Be Brought Back From US

Fugitive Tahawwur Rana responsible for the 26/11 Mumbai attack will be brought back from America.

India’s attempt to bring back Canadian businessman Fugitive Tahawwur Rana from Pakistan, who was declared a fugitive in the Mumbai attack, has started to pay off.

The US court has fixed February 12 for Rana’s extradition. Tahawwur Rana is a partner of David Coleman Hadley alias Dawood Geelani, the main mastermind of the Mumbai attack.

Rana was arrested again on 10 June in the US. Earlier in 2009, he was arrested at Chicago Airport. The Los Angeles court in the US has asked the US government to file a reply a month before the date.

In October, the US-supported extradition to India. However, Rana opposed the extradition and said that he should not be extradited like David Headley.

America argued that Headley had confessed to his crime, becoming a government witness. Such a situation is not with Rana, he has not yet confessed his crime.

There is no reason for his not being extradited. Tahawwur Rana, who was involved in the Mumbai attack, is originally from Pakistan and has spent ten years in the Army Medical Corps.

David Headley Coleman alias Dawood Geelani and Tahawwur Rana had conspired with Pakistani terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Taiba and Harkat ul-Jihad-e-Islami since 2006 before the Mumbai attack.

The plot was carried out on November 26 in 2008, in which 166 people died and more than 300 people were injured. Headley is serving a 35-year sentence in US prison. Ajmal Kasab, the only terrorist caught alive, was hanged in 2012.
