Bandipora Grenade Attack: Grenade attack in Sumbal area of ​​Bandipora, 6 people including a woman injured.

Six civilians, including a woman, were injured after suspected terrorists hurled a grenade at the K Sumbal Pul area of ​​north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday.

According to information received from the police, the terrorists hurled a grenade targeting the security forces patrolling in Sumbal, however, the grenade missed the target and exploded on the roadside.

During this, some local people passing by, including a woman, were seriously injured after being hit.

Bandipora Grenade Attack: Police said that five people, including a woman, were injured in the attack. He was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Soon after the attack, Army, SOG, and CRPF personnel reached the spot and started a search for the attackers. Security forces have started cordoning off the Sumbal Paul area.

Police say that at present searches are being done in the outskirts. After this, terrorists will also be searched by going to their homes.

Apart from this, the police are also trying to scrutinize the CCTV cameras installed around the Sumbal bridge area.

Soon after the attack, an atmosphere of panic prevailed in the area, and under the guise of this, the attackers managed to escape from there. The police claimed that the assailants would be identified soon.

Those injured in the grenade attack have been identified. These embody Mohammad Altaf resident Naninara, Faisal Fayaz resident Safapora.

Mushtaq Mohammad resident Markundal, Taslima Bano resident Markundal, Abdul Hameed resident Markundal, Fayaz Ahmed resident Asham.

During this, mischievous elements raised pro-Pakistan slogans at many places and allegedly hoisted the Pakistani flag.

A section of students and doctors also raised slogans of ‘Jeeve Jeeway Pakistan’ in the hostel of Medical College, Srinagar.

Videos of all these incidents are going viral on internet media.

This has angered many people and they called it a conspiracy to spoil the situation in Kashmir and demanded strict action against the culprits.

Taking cognizance of these incidents, the police have registered a case and started an investigation. Cases have been reported in these places

The officials concerned said that the police have registered two cases.

One case was against the students residing in Shere Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Hostel Soura and the other against the students residing in the hostel of Government Medical College, Srinagar.

Both the cases have been registered under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

However, till the writing of this news which went late last night, the arrest of any student, in this case, was not confirmed.
