Heavy protest in Itanagar over APPSC paper leak case, section 144 imposed: Arunachal Pradesh.
There has been a lot of uproar in the state regarding the paper leak case of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. Meanwhile, security personnel and protesters clashed during protests in Itanagar.
Police informed that the matter had become so serious that the security personnel had to lob tear gas shells at the protesters and lathi-charged them as well.
As of now, the situation has been brought under control.

There is a lot of resentment among the students of the state regarding the paper leak.
Thousands of people, including aggrieved candidates and their parents, took to the streets of the capital city early in the morning demanding the cancellation of the scheduled swearing-in of the new APPSC chairman on Friday evening.
They damaged posters of President Draupadi Murmu, who is scheduled to visit the northeastern state on February 20 on a two-day visit.

The protestors demanded that the swearing-in ceremony of the chairman and newly appointed members of the State Public Service Commission be postponed.
The committee demands that all the examinations conducted by APPSC in which the question papers were leaked be canceled.
Along with this, the immediate arrest of the former chairman, secretary, members, and other officers of the commission should be done.
Along with this, the protesters also demanded that all the aggrieved candidates should be called back. Each should be given a compensation of five lakh rupees.

Lathi charge is necessary.
IG Chukhu Apa said that to control the situation, the security personnel had to use tear gas shells on the protesters and were also forced to lathi charge.
Four policemen were also badly injured during the clash, following which adequate security personnel has been deployed in Itanagar.
The IG says that even during the protests, those people should have maintained law and order.
A letter was written to the governor.
The disgruntled candidates had earlier written to Governor BD Mishra strongly objecting to the appointment of a new chairman and members of APPSC and requested them not to take the oath.
Mishra has been made the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh and Lieutenant General Kaivalya Trivikram Parnaik was sworn in as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday.
The central agency will investigate the matter.
The state government said that the committee should not be blamed for whatever happened.
The state government has recommended a CBI probe into the alleged question paper leak and the central agency has initiated a probe.
