Politics in Jammu and Kashmir on the Indus Water Treaty
Politics has started again on the Indus Water Treaty in Jammu and Kashmir. PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said on Wednesday that raising disputes over settled issues will only increase tensions between India and Pakistan, which will benefit the BJP. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is only working to advance the BJP’s agenda by questioning the treaty. It would be better if he asked the central government to hand over full rights of at least two hydroelectric projects to Jammu and Kashmir.
