India became A member of three important committees of the United Nations. India has been made a member of three important economic and social committees in the United Nations (UN).

India has been a member of the UN Entity for Equality for gender equality and Empowerment of Women (UN Women) for women empowerment for three years.

The tenure will start from January 1, 2022. India has already been included in the Executive Board in the World Food Program. It also includes France, Ghana, Korea, Russia, and Sweden.

India has been elected to a three-year term starting from January 1, 2022, in the Crime Prevention and Criminal Commission. At the same time, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Ghana.

Libya, Pakistan, Qatar, Thailand, Togo, and the US were also elected with oral approval while Brazil, Dominican Republic, Prague, Chile, Cuba were voted in secret.

India was also elected to a three-year term on the executive board of the United Nations Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Society.

United Nations bodies include Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Gambia, Guyana, Kenya, Monaco, Poland, South Africa, Thailand, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine.

Apart from this, India was also elected on the Executive Board of the World Food Program. His term will start on January 1, 2022. France, Ghana, the Republic of Korea, Russia, and Sweden were also elected by approval in this board.

It may be noted that India has already been made a member of three important committees in the UN Security Council.

These include the Taliban Section Committee, the Libyan Section Committee, and the Anti-Terrorism Committee. India began its eighth term as a provisional member of the United Nations Security Council this year.

It is noteworthy that the Government of India-United Nations Sustainable Development Framework (SDF) 2018-2022 outlines the work of UN agencies in India to support the achievement of key development outcomes.

NITI Aayog is the national partner of the United Nations in India to conduct the Sustainable Development Framework Program of the United Nations.
