Nawab Malik’s custody In money laundering case ends today. Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik’s custody period is coming to an end, brought out of ED office.

Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik, arrested in an alleged money laundering case involving underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, is being brought out of the ED office in Mumbai.

The ED’s custody in the Dawood Ibrahim money laundering case ends today.

He has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with financial transactions from the underworld. He will be produced in court today.

It remains to be seen whether he is again sent to ED custody or will he have to go to jail in judicial custody.

Significantly, the Bombay High Court has sought a response from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the arrest of Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik.

ED has arrested Nawab Malik in a money laundering case. The case filed by Malik against him and the arrest has been challenged in the Bombay High Court.

Hearing on which on Wednesday, the court asked the ED to file its affidavit in this case.

Maharashtra minister and senior NCP leader Nawab Malik, in his plea, has approached the High Court seeking quashing of the case registered against him by the ED.

Advocate Amit Desai, appearing for Malik, told the court on Wednesday that the case registered against his client and his arrest is a bad example of abuse of power.

ED seeks time to file an affidavit.

On the alleged transactions of Nawab Malik, owner of a plot in Kurla, and members of D-Gang.

Amit Desai told the court that the two persons involved in the deal, Haseena Parkar and Salim Patel, are no longer in the world.

Dragging Malik’s name, in this case, creates a wrong impression of him. Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, appearing for the ED, has sought time to file the affidavit.

He said that many other things have been said in the petition. ED will have to see them too. The court has fixed March 7 for the next hearing.

The arrest was made on February 23.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Nawab Malik, a minister in the Maharashtra government, on February 23.

He has been arrested in the alleged money laundering case involving underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. After his arrest, the special PMLA court sent Nawab Malik to ED custody till March 3.

Presently he is in ED custody. His custody ends on Thursday. In such a situation, he will be presented in the special court on Thursday.
