KL Rahul May Be Out Of The T20 Series Against West Indies
KL Rahul may be out of the T20 series against West Indies, but this batsman has a chance with Rohit.
India’s opener batsman KL Rahul’s hopes of a comeback in the T20 series against West Indies have suffered a setback.
Rahul became Covid positive on July 21, due to which there was a lot of speculation about his return but now reports are coming that he will not be able to play the upcoming T20 series against West Indies.
However, no official confirmation has been made by the BCCI regarding this yet.
BCCI sources have been quoted as saying that Rahul needs more rest to fully recover from Covid. However, it is highly unlikely that anyone will be sent to the West Indies as his replacement.
Either Rishabh Pant or Ishan Kishan can open with Rohit. There is no point in sending anyone now. The T20 series is going to start on July 29.
Actually, today was the last day of his quarantine but still, he has not been able to recover completely, so he has been advised by the BCCI medical team to take a rest for one more week.
Rahul is in rehab at the National Cricket Academy after his successful surgery. But this news has made the wait for his return a little longer.
After West Indies, Team India will tour Zimbabwe after 6 years. Now Rahul is expected to return to the team on this tour. The first match of the three-match ODI series will be played on August 18.
This series will be part of the World Cup Super League. Being the host nation, India has already qualified for the 2023 World Cup.
KL Rahul played his last T20 match against New Zealand in November 2021 but after the IPL he got injured before the series against South Africa.
