Mehbooba Mufti writes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking the release of Kashmiri political prisoners in jails.
Peoples Democratic Party President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, demanding the release of all Kashmiri political prisoners in jails.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, Mehbooba Mufti said that I am writing this letter to you at a time when the whole country is in the grip of the second wave of Covid infection.
Unfortunately, our entire health structure has collapsed. The heart-wrenching pictures of patients longing for breath have shaken all of us.
The condition of helplessness is that people are watching their own people die and even after wishing they are not able to do anything. They are also unable to cremate him in a respectful manner.
Mehbooba Mufti writes to PM: No one wants to politicize this human tragedy. This epidemic is not considering anyone.
If you see something better in such a situation, then it is that all the people are helping each other by rising above the feeling of caste, religion, and region.
Mehbooba Mufti has written that there are also reports of the death of several prisoners lodged in prisons due to cancer infection, there is not enough treatment facility in the jails.
In such a situation, when the entire system seems unable to deal with the epidemic, the prisoners who are lodged in the jails will be less concerned.
Hundreds of Kashmiri political prisoners have been lodged in jails located within the state and in different parts of the country since 2019, if not thousands.
Most of them have been held captive as a precautionary measure, many have not been released even after the court grants bail.
Recently Mohammad Ashraf Sahrai died in jail from a corona infection. Various countries around the world are releasing prisoners to Corona in the wake of Corona.
The PDP President has written to the Prime Minister urging the release of the prisoners that as a civilized and democratic nation.
India should release all political prisoners without delay so that they can return to their homes in the current situation. I sincerely hope that you will consider it seriously and order the release of the prisoners.
Mehboba Ji has awakened at last from the shock of electoral defeat in DDC elections . She along with other members of Gupkar Declaration have been rejected by the people and new crop of young leaders are posing threat to their existence ,the signals of which has been sent by the huge numbers of independents winning the election in DDC elections . She has shown concern for political prisoners of j&k UT . why she along with her party cadre do volunteer job to save people from the death . No volunteer organization from any political party is visible doing any such service only the young people along with social organizations are doing lot of service . So respected Madam Ji do some service to the nation which has give you a lot and demanded nothing from you .
