On the other hand, under Operation Alert, 11 boats and 65 fishermen from Gujarat have been hijacked by the Pak Marine Agency in the last two weeks.

According to Inspector General of BSF Gujarat Frontier GS Malik, during the patrol, the soldiers spotted suspicious boats through UAV cameras.

The patrol team reached and took possession of these boats. BSF has expressed apprehension that Pakistani fishermen have left the boat and hide somewhere.

Earlier, in two weeks, 11 boats from Okha, Porbandar, and about 65 fishermen were kidnapped and taken to Karachi by the Pakistan Marine Agency.

Pak Marine Agency hijacked two boats and 13 fishermen on January 28. After this, on 31 January, 5 February, and 6 February also hijacked boats and fishermen from international waters.

Since China has provided Pakistan with modern patrol boats, the Pakistani agency has been continuously hijacking Indian boats and fishermen from the international waters bordering Gujarat.

Manish Lodhari, secretary of the Indian Fish Forum, says that for the first time, the Gujarat government gives monthly assistance of nine thousand rupees to the family of the kidnapped fisherman.

More than 600 fishermen from Gujarat are lodged in Pakistani jails.
