PDP Youth Wing Chief Waheed Para Got Bail
PDP youth wing chief Waheed Para got bail, NIA arrested due to ties with Hizbul.
Waheed Para, the PDP youth wing chief, was granted bail on Saturday by a National Investigation Agency (NIA) court here.
He was granted bail after being detained for a month and a half for Hizbul Mujahideen’s alleged links with terrorists.
Officials said that Para, who recently won the District Development Council (DDC) election from his hometown of Pulwama district in south Kashmir, was produced in an NIA court which granted him bail on a bail amount of Rs 1 lakh.
He was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on 25 November last year. His arrest was a few days after he filed his nomination papers as a candidate for the Declaration Alliance (PAGD).
Accused of supporting Hizbul Mujahideen
The NIA had said that Para was arrested in the Navid Babu-Davinder Singh case for conspiring with other accused persons to support the Hizbul Mujahideen.
The charge was denied by the PDP and the party termed his arrest as “politically motivated”.
Para was considered a major motivator for the youth to join mainstream politics in Pulwama and the nearby Shopian district when terrorism was raising its head again.
As the Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council from 2016 to 2018, Para played a major role in organizing the Games in parts of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state, including the Ladakh region.
Dogra front protest against Mehbooba Mufti, demand for cancellation of PDP recognition
The Dogra Front Shiv Sena on Friday staged a protest at Rani Park against the PDP President Mehbooba Mufti for not lifting the tricolor and shouted slogans.
The Election Commission demanded that the recognition of Mehbooba Mufti’s party PDP be revoked.
Activists said that the dual policy would not work. Mehbooba Mufti had said not to lift the tricolor, then why did he field his workers in the election of the District Development Council.
Because these elections are held within the purview of the Indian Constitution. We will not allow this duplicity policy.
Activists said that Mehbooba Mufti should apologize to the people of the country otherwise the Election Commission should without delay Mehbooba’s party revoke the recognition of PDP.
Because those who go against the Indian Constitution, cannot contest elections and their party cannot be recognized. Dogra Front Shiv Sena chief Ashok Gupta says that Mehbooba is engaged in misleading the people of Kashmir.
At first, she kept talking against the country and later dreaming of making her workers the chairman of the District Development Council.
But I want to tell you that the chairman of the District Development Council can become the one who considers the Indian Constitution.
