Surge in Terrorist Incidents in Jammu: Conspiracy or Ceasefire Exploitation?

Surge In Terrorist Incidents In Jammu: Discover the reasons behind the sudden increase in terrorist attacks in Jammu. Explore whether it’s a conspiracy or terrorists taking advantage of the ceasefire.

Learn about the geographical challenges, historical context, and the impact of previous government policies.

Why did terrorist incidents suddenly increase? Is it someone’s conspiracy or terrorists are taking advantage of the ceasefire?

Terrorist organizations are now targeting the Jammu region. It is clear from such continuous attacks that terrorists have again established their roots in this region.

Geographically, most of the attacks are happening in the southern region of Pir Panjal. This entire area is a dense mountainous forest and it is not possible to see even a few meters.

Terrorists coming from Pakistan take advantage of this and attack the security forces and then run away into the forest and hide in the hideouts built in this area.

Around the year 2,000, this area had become a stronghold of terrorism. More attacks took place in this area than in Kashmir.

Many massacres took place one after the other in Rajouri-Poonch to Doda-Kishtwar and Reasi and after that the government became alert and the army was given a free hand to eliminate terrorism.

In 2004, Operation Sarp Vinash was carried out on Hill Kaka in Poonch. In other districts also, the Romeo Force of the Army started searching and killing terrorists.

After that, these terrorists did not find any place. After that, after almost two decades of peace, terrorists have not only established roots in this area but are also trying to challenge the valor of the army.

Surge In Terrorist Incidents In Jammu: How are terrorists getting safe hideouts?

There is a need to understand – what circumstances arose that we could not protect peace in this area.

How are terrorists getting safe hideouts in this area, whereas the original population here has always supported the army in the fight against terrorism?

Due to the policies of the previous governments, such people were continuously settled around rivers, drains, and ravines, whose role has always been suspicious.

Terrorists are getting hideouts around these drains and they are easily escaping after carrying out the crime.

Is Pakistan taking advantage of the ceasefire?

The second big reason is that we had a ceasefire with Pakistan in the year 2021 and Pakistan is continuously taking advantage of it.

Since the Line of Control is now peaceful, it has become easier for Pakistan to infiltrate terrorists into this area.

During this time, Pakistan took advantage of the ceasefire on the Line of Control reactivated its destroyed training centers across the LoC, and continued to infiltrate into Indian territory.

This process is still going on. This is the reason that the terrorist network that was almost destroyed in Jammu and Kashmir at one time has become active again.

Why are terrorist attacks happening in peaceful areas?

After the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir, we kept the security cordon in the northern region of Pir Panjal i.e. South Kashmir in such a way that the terrorists and their supporters were left restless.

At the same time, our vigilance in the southern region of Pir Panjal, which seemed peaceful, kept decreasing.

The security forces in this area were already less. In such a situation, Pakistan first reactivated its network of terrorists in districts like Rajouri-Poonch and Doda.

First of all, it is necessary to understand that the hilly areas of Jammu have been a shelter for terrorists. Terrorists used to hide in these forests and carry out attacks.

Even about two decades ago, this area was a stronghold of terrorism and more attacks took place in this area than in Kashmir. Now innocent women and children have been targeted in Reasi.

Then the attack on the army vehicle in Kathua is a matter of concern. Now is the time to make a concrete decision.

After Rajouri and Poonch, the attacks in Reasi and Kathua show that the army will have to be given freedom for another decisive attack.

This time decisive action should be taken and it should be such that Pakistan thinks a hundred times before doing anything.
