The number of active militants in the valley has reached a minimum level. Most of the survivors are local and new terrorists.

Terrorism In J&K: Infiltration of terrorists from across the border became difficult.

The insurgency of militants from across the border has become difficult due to the promptness of the security forces.

Pakistan did the trick to send the terrorists by digging the tunnel across the border but it could not succeed for a long time.

The security forces have traced and closed four tunnels one after the other in the last few months. The situation is that out of the militants operating in the valley, hardly one or two terrorists remain foreign.

According to a senior official, local and new terrorists do not last long in encounters with security forces.

Many of these terrorists surrendered after an appeal by security forces and family members during the encounter. In 2020, a total of 22 such terrorists chose to surrender amidst the encounter.

During this time not only the number of terrorists has decreased in the valley, but the morale of those supporting them has also weakened. In 2019, a total of more than 30 shutdowns and strikes were announced in the valley.

But in 2020 its number barely halved to a dozen. Similarly, stone-pelting incidents in support of terrorists or during protests at the places of encounter became common in the valley.

More than two thousand stone-pelting incidents were recorded in 2019, but in 2020 it was reduced to around 300.
