Terrorist attack at counselor’s house in Kashmir amid tight security arrangements.

Terrorists attacked the house of a counselor in Bren Nishat last night, flouting tight security arrangements in the summer capital.

The counselor survived as he was not at home at the time of the attack. At present, the police have registered a case and started an investigation.

A police spokesman said that last night around 11.30 pm, two terrorists on a motorcycle came to the house of Ward-3 counselor Aaqib Ahmed Renju in Srinagar Municipal Corporation.

Terrorist attack at counselor’s house: Renju’s house is in Karpora, Brain Nishat. The terrorists found out about the consul, but he and his bodyguards were not there.

On this, the terrorists fired some bullets from the pistol at the outer gate of the consular’s house and left from there.

Policemen patrolling in the nearby area reached the spot after hearing the sound of hail. By that time the terrorists had fled from there.

At present, the police have registered a case and launched a search operation in view of the possibility of hiding the terrorists in Brain Nishat and its adjoining areas.

Operation All-Out picks up pace in Kashmir Valley, 90 terrorists killed in seven months.

Operation All-Out, launched by the security forces with the goal of making the Kashmir Valley a paradise again, has started gaining momentum.

The Valley has seen a lot of changes since the abrogation of Article 370. At the local level, where the process of dharna demonstration, stone-pelting on the issues came to an end, anti-terrorist operations have also increased.

So far this year, 90 terrorists have been killed in various operations. However, 73 new terrorists have also been made during the same period.

However, there has been a vast improvement in the overall security scenario during the last two years and there is a decrease of 72 percent if the law and order incidents are assessed during the last two years.

According to a senior officer of Jammu and Kashmir Police, if we assess the situation from August 2017 to July 2017 and August 2019 to July 2021, there has been a 72 percent reduction in law and order cases.

He said that out of 90 terrorists killed in various counter-insurgency operations this year, 51 belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba while only 20 terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen have been killed so far this year.

Six al-Badr terrorists have been killed between January 1, 2021, and July 31, 2021. Eight terrorists of Jaish, three from Ansar Gajwatul Hind, and two from ISJK have been killed in the same period.
