Terrorist Attack on BJP Leader In Jammu And Kashmir
Terrorist attack on a BJP leader in Jammu and Kashmir, a bodyguard attained martyrdom after saving the life of the leader and his wife. In Ganderbal on Tuesday night, terrorists opened fire on BJP’s district sub-president Ghulam Qadir and his wife.
The BJP leader’s bodyguard rescued both by taking quick action and heaped a terrorist in spite of himself being injured in the attack. The bodyguard stood in front of the other terrorists, seeing his daring, other terrorists escaped to save their lives.
At the same time, the injured bodyguard also died later. Security forces have carried out extensive search operations by sieging adjacent areas with the house of the BJP leader.
According to the information, at around eight o’clock after sunset, the terrorists attacked the BJP leader Ghulam Qadir in the Nunar area of Ganderbal. Ghulam Qadir was taking his ailing wife to the doctor.
When he reached the gate of his house, the terrorists came in front. They attacked him, but his bodyguard police constable Altaf Hussain retaliated against the terrorists, saving them.
During this, the constable fell from a bullet wound, but he continued to retaliate against the terrorists. Bullets were fired from both sides for about five minutes. During this time a terrorist was killed and his other accomplices escaped, saving their lives.
Police personnel also reached the spot
On hearing the sound of gunfire, army and police personnel patrolling the nearby area also reached the spot. While arranging for the security of the BJP leader and his family, he made arrangements to bring injured policeman Altaf Hussain to the hospital, but he was martyred on the way.
Meanwhile, the security forces also took the body of the slain terrorist. He also began a search operation to siege the entire area to catch other terrorists, which continued till late in the night.
The slain terrorist has not been identified. According to sources, he is Shabbir Ahmed Shah, a resident of Jagnalad (Pulwama) in South Kashmir.
Significantly, BJP leader Ghulam Qadir, who survived the terror attack, came into the limelight last month when he was accused of capturing the graveyard land in Kijaura village. The police registered a case against him and also detained him.
