SIT may submit an investigation report on Wednesday: Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to investigate Hathras incident may submit the investigation report to the Yogi government on Wednesday.
The SIT, headed by Home Secretary Bhagwan Swarup, has almost completed its investigation. Sources say that the SIT has recorded statements of about 100 people, including policemen.
The negligence of several other policemen has also come to light. The SIT was constituted under the chairmanship of the Home Secretary on 30 September on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The SIT consists of DIG Chandra Prakash and SP Poonam as members. The SIT has conducted a series of investigations at several points, including meeting the woman’s family in Hathras. The government has also recommended a CBI inquiry into the Hathras incident.
