A joint task force of army, police, and CRPF conducted a search operation in Sugan village of Shopian late in the evening. Two to three terrorists were reported to be hiding in the village. To avoid the siege of the soldiers, the terrorists tried to escape while firing, but the soldiers thwarted it.

With this, the encounter started. The jawans have evacuated the people trapped in the houses and terrorist hideouts around the encounter site to a safe place between the firing. The army has also appealed to the local people to ask the terrorists to surrender.

Pakistan set fire to the Line of Control to clear the way for terrorists

It is being told that the Pakistan Army opened fire on three sectors of Poonch district on Tuesday to divert the attention of Indian Army personnel and clear the way for infiltration of terrorists and disturbance along the Line of Control.

By late evening, more than 50 landmines had exploded. Pakistani troops opened fire on dry grass and leaves in their area on Tuesday morning. The fire was set in such a way that it could easily reach the Indian territory even in a light breeze and it happened.

In a very short time, it spread to a much larger area of ​​Mendhar, Balakot, and Mankot sectors of Poonch district. It also engulfed the landmines laid along the Line of Control. Landmines are constantly bursting.

Fire is not under the control

As soon as the fire broke out, Indian Army personnel were activated to extinguish it. Jawans along with fire brigade employees are also extinguishing the fire. The fire could not be controlled till late in the night.

The fire is spreading continuously by engulfing grass and leaves. People living in villages near the Line of Control are also helping to control the fire. Significantly, such incidents of fire have been done by the Pakistan Army even before.
