Responding to a question in the Vidhan Sabha, the Chief Minister said that efforts are being made in all the states of the Northeast to fight this problem unitedly.
He said that Home Minister Amit Shah has instructed him to take strict measures against drugs, cow smuggling, and human trafficking.
The state chief minister said the network has its roots in Myanmar and that some insurgent groups are involved in the supplies.
He said the government had no information about the involvement of ULFA (I) terrorists in the trade.
