United Nations Appeals To Iran To Exercise Restraint

United Nations appeals to Iran to exercise restraint after top Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsin killed.

The United Nations spokesperson has called for restraint and peace in the Middle East region after the assassination of top Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsin on Friday.

Iran had earlier appealed to the United Nations Secretary-General and the Security Council to condemn the killing of its top nuclear scientist Mohsin Fakhrizadeh.

Iran has called it a state-sponsored assassination. Iran’s United Nations ambassador Takht Ravanchi has said that Mohsin’s murder is a complete violation of international law.

This led to unrest in the region.

Let us know that Mohsin Fakhrizadeh, the leading scientist of Iran’s secret atomic bomb program, was ambushed near Tehran on Friday.

Hosain Dehghan, military advisor and commander of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has threatened to wreak havoc on Fakhrizadeh’s killers.

He said that Israel’s hand is clearly understood in this cowardly attack. It is noteworthy that this attack happened a few days before the tenth anniversary of another scientist’s Majid Shahriari.

Iran also considers Israel’s hand behind the killing of Shahriari.

This development is expected to increase the confrontation between Iran and its enemies in the last few weeks of US President Donald Trump’s term.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Muhammad Javad Zarif has also raised doubts about Israel’s involvement in the killing in a tweet.

But the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office and the US Department of Defense Pentagon have not commented on the attack.

However, US President Trump retweeted a tweet by journalist Yossi Mailman of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, describing the assassination as “great psychological and professional trauma for Iran”.

On the outskirts of Tehran, the assassins opened fire on the car of a nuclear scientist who died in hospital after being injured, state media reports said.

A quasi-government news agency reported that the number of attackers was at least five. These men detonated another car before firing a machine gun at Fakhrizadeh’s car.
